Garry's Race Report: Sydney 500

The final round in what has been one of my most enjoyable seasons in the 53 that I have been a part of. Sure, the year from our point of view has been challenging off the track, but I am so proud of all the boys and girls at GRM with the manner in which they have attacked the work required to see us have what I see as a very, very good season. Read More

Gold Coast 600: Garry's Race Report

We were really keen to get back racing after the manner in which Bathurst finished and the team were really keen to earn a result that we thought worthy of the effort that all had put in over the Endurance Cup part of the season, but also with the car speed that we had been showing.  Read More

Wilson Security Sandown 500: Report

Driving in to Sandown Raceway and the memories of my early days of racing always come flooding back, but in the cut and thrust climate of Supercar racing there is very little time for reminiscing. Read More

Garry Rogers Motorsport has stepped back 30 years unveiling our livery for this weekend’s Wilson Security Sandown 500.  The Volvo S60s have gone back to 1986 with a livery inspired by the Volvo Dealer Team Australian Touring Car Championship winning 240 Turbo.  Read More

GRM Enduro Line Up Finliased

Everyone would be aware that we had settled on our four drivers some time ago, however we had not announced who would drive with who. But today Cowboy, the race engineers and myself considered all relevant factors and have paired the two James', Moffat and Golding and Scotty McLaughlin with David Wall. Read More

SMSP SuperSprint : Race Report

Following four weekends to catch up on the jobs around home we were back at it with Races 18 and 19 of the Championship and the final sprint round before the three all important Endurance races. Unfortunately from my end I was unable to make it to Sydney, the first race meeting that I have missed in more than 5 years. But all was in good hands and thankfully for my ever improving ability with texting and the internet I wasn’t too far away.  Read More

They say that time flies when you are having fun. Well, I must be having a great time! This time last year I was surprised by the display that was put on of some of my old race cars (I didn’t even know that many existed) for my 70th birthday, and here we are again at Queensland Raceway.   Read More

Townsville 400: Race Report

Race Report: Darwin Triple Crown

The Darwin event is my favourite Super Sprint event on the calendar. The atmosphere in Darwin is tremendous and the local community led by the Northern Territory Government really get behind the event. Also, heading to the top end from Melbourne in June is certainly a great improvement weather wise and you can be assured that it will be 33 deg every day.   Read More

Darwin Triple Crown: Friday Practice

A great start to the Darwin Triple Crown with both cars finishing inside the top 7 after two 60 minute practice sessions. Scott McLaughlin ended the day 4th and James Moffat 7th. Winton SuperSprint: Race Report

I know in my reports I often refer to Joey our transporter driver and again I can’t help myself. Joey is a most valued member of my team and at the risk of sounding biased Joe is the most organised, fastidious and caring truck driver in pit lane. To highlight my point Joey spends as much time on the “weather app” as he does caring for his Volvo Globetrotter FH16 700.  Read More

Winton SuperSprint: Saturday

Scott McLaughlin claimed 2nd place and the championship lead after race 10 at Winton.

Unfortunately damage to the right front steering arm on the opening lap for James Moffat forced him to the garage, the crew was able to get him back out on track a few laps down, he finished in 26th. Hear from Scott McLaughlin after today’s racing  Watch Video

Bieber for Bathurst

Wilson Security Racing GRM is really pleased to announce that James “Bieber” Golding will join the Volvo squad for the Pirtek Enduro Cup. Bieber and the experienced David Wall will be the two drivers that support James Moffat and Scott McLaughlin. At this stage no decision has been made on the pairings, and Garry does not see this as an issue that requires an immediate decision.  Read More

Garry's Race Report: Perth

A very emotional weekend for all the team at GRM. I don’t want to harp on negatives as we still have a long season ahead and to date our performances have been very, very good. But, I do want to address the decision by Polestar in Sweden (who control Volvo Motorsport worldwide) only to say that I am extremely disappointed by their statement last week saying that they will not extend their commitment to Supercars past this current season. Read More

Perth SuperSprint

Garry's Race Report: Phillip Island

Wow!  What an incredible weekend for Wilson Security GRM with the Volvo Dealer Racing S60 winning races 6 and 7 of the Championship. Tasmania Charity Sprint

V8 Supercars organised a 100 metre Sprint where each team could nominate a team member to run and $5000 would be donated to the nominated charity.  At GRM we pride ourselves on following the rules but also in doing our very best.  We asked our staff who would like to run and did a run off to find out best sprinter which was Kieron Woodger (aka Volvo Man) who is the head mechanic on car 34.  Read More

Garry's Race Report: Australian Grand Prix

It’s obvious but I will say it – I love Motor Racing. The Grand Prix has always been a love/hate type event for me and without been too presumptuous other V8 Teams may well have the same feeling.  Read More

Garry's Race Report: Clipsal 500

Wow!  We thought we had seen it all when we had that infamous 2014 Bathurst 1000, but incredible conditions from heat to tropical rains and thunderstorms threw a curve ball at this year’s Clipsal 500.  Read more

Clipsal 500 Saturday

We came to Clipsal with mixed emotions after some fantastic results in the past but also the disappointment of 2015.  A lot of water has gone under the bridge since Clipsal 2015 and we really wanted to produce a solid result.  Read More
