It all started back in 1963 when Garry Rogers began a lifelong involvement in motorsport by racing Appendix J Holden's. Now five decades on, Garry Rogers Motorsport has become one of Australia's most professional and successful motorsport organisations and we will be striving to continue that success this year.
Garry Rogers Motorsport has had an enormous impact on Australian motorsport, including Garry being instrumental in the development of many of Australia's top drivers who have been exposed to the GRM way, including Steven Richards, Garth Tander, Jason Bargwanna, Jamie Whincup, Cameron McConville and Lee Holdsworth, along with our current talented drivers Michael Caruso and Alexandre Premat.
One of the team's greatest successes came when we won the 2000 Bathurst FAI 1000 with Garth Tander and Jason Bargwanna behind the wheel of a VT Commodore.
Bathurst has provided notable highlights for the team including winning the inaugural Bathurst 24 Hour in the Holden Monaro, with Garth Tander, Steven Richards, Nathan Pretty and Cameron McConville, during the 2002 season. This was a massive effort for our team not only to run the V8 Supercar program but also to design and build the Holden Monaro from the ground up.
After the success of the now famous 427 Monaro in its first year, a second Monaro was developed for the 2003 season. This year was highlighted by wins in Nation Cups events and another Bathurst 24 Hour one/two finish, with Peter Brock, Greg Murphy, Jason Bright and Todd Kelly, joining the existing team and driving the race winning car.
We are proud to continue our relationship with Fujitsu, Valvoline and Cummins again in 2012 and the team is looking forward to another big year.
